Founded in 2013, the Brunswick Rugby Club is committed to developing strong athletes, strong teammates, and strong people.

Our mission goes beyond the pitch. We build players of character, integrity, discipline, and accountability, while fostering the teamwork, resilience, and determination it takes to succeed as a team. We are dedicated to growing the game of rugby, developing athletes through positive and demanding coaching, and competing at the highest levels of the sport, both nationally and internationally.

From learning the fundamentals to mastering the technical side of the game, our players are challenged to improve, compete, and push beyond their limits. We expect our athletes to work hard, support one another, and take pride in wearing the Valkyries name.

And above all? We have a ton of fun doing it.

NEW PLAYERS WELCOME
You don't need years of rugby experience to join us. We welcome new players throughout the season and will help you learn the game, develop your skills, and become part of the team.

Bring your cleats (soccer cleats work), mouthguard, water bottle, and most importantly, a good attitude and willingness to work.

You don't live in Brunswick? No problem. Our players come from communities throughout the surrounding area. If you're willing to show up, work hard, and be part of the team, there's a place for you here.

Think you're too small? Too big? Too fast? Too slow?

Rugby doesn't care.

Rugby needs athletes of all shapes, sizes, strengths, and skill sets. There's a position for everyone, and there's always another challenge to conquer.

Dan Prater

Valkyries Founder Emeritus

Coach Prater has 19 total years rugby experience including 13 at the head coach position and 15 while playing and only recently "retired" in 2021.

Charlee McCormick

Valkyries Head Coach

Charlee McCormick is a Brunswick Valkyries alumni ‘21. She went to Notre Dame College and was an All-American while its doors were still open. She graduated from Walsh University and loved playing rugby every minute of her collegiate career.

Tom Knuff

Rookie Head Coach

Tom Knuff made his coaching debut in Spring 2026. He is a 2015 Brunswick High School graduate and a member of the 2013 State Championship team. Tom went to college to play football and quickly transferred over to play rugby at Baldwin Wallace, where he won Co-Pack MVP in 2017. He looks forward to helping athletes discover a new love in rugby!
